THE LIGHT WORKS

The artists taking part in the Targetti Light Art Collection hail from all over the world: the Italians Gilberto Zorio, Vittorio Messina, Donatella Mei, Franco Ionda, Fabrizio Corneli, Attilio Tono, Ferrario Freres, Clara Luiselli, Nicola Evangelisti, Il Fondo, Carlo Nonnis and Fabrizio Rivola found their international counterpoints in Rivka Rinn from Israel, Werner Klotz from Germany, Lena Liv from Russia, Kristin Jones & Andrew Ginzel from the US, Anne et Patrick Poirier from France, Hidetoshi Nagasawa and Shinji Yamamoto from Japan, Olafur Eliasson from Iceland and Krzysztof Bednarski from Poland.

The artworks created from 1997 are "light works", that is, luminous installations linked by the common denominator of electric light.

Each artist was asked to create a piece that would be best enhanced by the expressive potential of this indisputably fascinating "material-non-material" and where light would bring its form and emotional power to culmination. The intrinsic value of the works augmented by a valuable experience, born from the artists' cooperation with the Company's specialists which, in turn, developed into a profitable exchange of ideas and experiences between the usually distant worlds of culture, technology and business.
