HESHAN TARGETTI Co. LTD, a joint venture between Targetti (which for over seventy-five years has been an international leader in the sector of interior and exterior architectural lighting) and Neo Neon (the largest Chinese lighting company, with over 15,000 employees and a strong specialisation in the sector of LEDs) opened for business in Guang Zhou, China.

In the new company, whose top management is composed of both Italian and Chinese administrators, Targetti—which is both majority shareholder and responsible for governance—decided to recreate the basic dynamics of its own business policy, both in terms of technology and in terms of quality control systems.

HESHAN TARGETTI Co. LTD will oversee production in China of a portion of the Targetti collection of lighting instruments, intended for distribution on Asian markets. For this purpose, an entire catalogue has recently been printed in Mandarin.

The manufacturing plant—which once fully operative, will employ 150 workers—covers an area of approximately 8000 square metres, 80 km from Guang Zhou (Canton), in the heart of one of the manufacturing districts with the highest rate of industrial development, as well as the province with the highest per capita income in China (it produces 90% of Chinese telephones, 98% of watches, and 82% of footwear).

With the opening of the new plant, Targetti will significantly bolster its presence in the Far East. The company has been active on Asian markets for over thirty years through a company in the Philippines and sales offices in Singapore and Beijing, which have allowed it to develop many architectural lighting projects on-site, including those for the Singapore Opera House (already completed) and for the new Guang Zhou International Airport, an airport complex designed to be the most innovative and busiest in the world, with 80 million passengers a year.

The foundation of HESHAN TARGETTI Co. LTD is part of a broader project for strengthening the Targetti Group’s production and logistics structures, which foresees—among other things—the construction of new Targetti headquarters in Tuscany and new offices in Emilia Romagna for its affiliate Neri.
