4-8 December 2002
The Festival of Lights takes place every year in Lyon, a city where, ever since 1852, on the evening of 8th December, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, all the windows are illuminated by a multitude of candles. Over the years, the talent of artists and the skill of industry have joined the spontaneous gesture of the residents of Lyon. This has led to the creation of a festival, a cultural event which simultaneously highlights the city’s ancestral history and its modern outlook. This year Targetti has decided to become a partner in what is a particularly important event for the world of lighting (3rd - 8th December 2002), by contributing to the realization of one of the most interesting fringe events: the Plan Lumière- Lyon Confluence workshop, organized by the ACE (Association des concepteurs lumière et Eclairagistes). The aim of this workshop is to conduct analysis and research into the lighting plan for an up and coming new district built on an old brownfield site, based on a town planning project by Francois Gréther and Michel Desvigne for SEM Confluence. The research will be carried out by 25 fourth year students from the "Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Nature et du Paysage de Blois", under the guidance of lighting designers from the ACE and under the direction of Anne Bureau (lighting designer, Bordeaux) and Silvie Sieg (lighting designer, Clermont-Ferrand), in collaboration with artist Olivier Agid and students of the Fine Arts School of Clermont-Ferrand.
