THANKS TO TARGETTI, NORMAN FOSTER AND RON DENNIS WILL BE IN FLORENCE ON 15TH MAY
An event that should not be missed: on 15th May, from 10.15 a.m., in the Salone dei Cinquecento of Palazzo Vecchio, Lord Norman Foster (a true icon of contemporary architecture) and Ron Dennis (McLaren’s Chairman and CEO) will be talking to Philippe Daverio about the relationship between architecture and the commissioning client. The event entitled "Il principe e l'architetto nel XXI secolo" (The Prince and the Architect in the 21st century) is the first meeting promoted by the Osservatorio sull'architettura (Observatory on architecture), the cycle of conferences devised and promoted by Targetti Sankey SpA in order to investigate the beneficial interdisciplinary synergies between architecture, communication, art, sociology, etc.
The meeting will centre around a case history which constitutes an emblematic example of the innumerable merits of an architectural project in relation to the commissioning client, the communication of brand values, environmental sustainability and the quality of the workplace: the recently completed McLaren Technology Centre, which occupies an area of 50 hectares to the south of London, designed by Foster and Partners, and already considered to be a "model of industrial architecture for the new millennium".
Alongside the two testimonials presented about this extraordinary project, there will also be contributions by Paolo Targetti (Chairman of Targetti Sankey Spa, which provided the lighting for the McLaren Technology Centre), Leonardo Domenici (Mayor of Florence) and Gianni Biagi (Councillor responsible for Town Planning at Florence City Council).
