TRAINING COURSES PROGRAMME FOR THE YEAR 2002
Training courses offer a bases for a more creative use of indoor and outdoor lighting, focusing necessary technical knowledge on one end and putting participants in touch with successful professionals who are able to communicate their own experiences. Training activities are oranized on two levels, basic courses and workshop:
- Basic courses: for all those who want to learn the fundamental concepts for a correct and effective use of light.
- Workshops: for all those who want to specialize in specific applications.
Teachers are university professors, researchers of the National Institute of Applied Optics, professionals members of the leading lighting designer associations, people from the national an international industries.
At the end of the course a certificate of attendance will be issued to participants.

WORKSHOP ILLUMINAZIONE URBANA February 14th - 16th 2002
Italian language
AIM: to provide an opportunity of specialization to all professionals involved in urban lighting planning. TARGET: professionals, technicians of towns administrations. DURATION: 24 hours spread over 3 days. TOPICS Lighting bases - Visual science - Lighting sources and their characteristics - City lighting plans - Norms - Products - Installation Architectural illumination of historical and artistic areas. COST: 700 €. It includes study materials, lunches, shuttle service.
WORKSHOP NIGHT LANDASCAPE Along the city's edge With Roger Narboni
March 22nd - 24th 2002
LANGUAGE: English
GOAL: to provide participants with the right method to develop a lighting concept for landscape at the edge between a developped area and its surroundings. TARGET: lighting professionals PERIOD: 24 hours divided in 3 days TOPICS: the workshop will be directed by the internationally recognized lighting designer Roger Narboni, who will lead participants in the development of a lighting concept for a specific place: a medieval area in the middle of Tuscany. Visits to the selected place will be followed by work sections at Lighting Academy headquarters. COST: 1000 €. It includes didactic material, shuttle service to connect La Sfacciata to the selected place and to the center of the city, lunches and dinners.
BASIC INDOOR LIGHTING COURSE June 19th - 22nd 2002 (I° edition) November 13th - 16th 2002 (II° edition)

AIM: to provide a bases for a correct use of light indoors. TARGET: students and non specialized professionals who want to learn tools for a correct and effective use of light. DURATION: 32 spread over 4 days TOPICS - Visual science - Photometry - Principles of lighting calculation - Lighting sources and their characteristics - Natural light: methods of evaluation and control - Optical control - Examples of planning COST: 700 €. It includes didactic materials, lunches, shuttle service.
