Lighting Academy: programme for the year 2004

La Sfacciata Lighting Academy, in collaboration with Targetti, following the continue effort to organize structured study initiatives dedicated to light, presents the programme for the year 2004 for the Courses in Lighting Science.
 
Light is an opportunity to create high added value projects. It is therefore a limit to consider light only from a functional and technical point of view, it has become a chance in which practical knowledge must be accompany by the understanding of cultural, psychological and perceptive aspects.
 
Training courses offer a bases for a more correct and creative use of indoor and outdoor lighting, focusing necessary technical knowledge on one end and putting participants in touch with successful professionals who are able to communicate their own experiences. Training activities are organized on two levels, Basic Courses and Workshops:
-  Basic Courses: for all those who want to learn the fundamental concepts for a correct and effective use of light;
-  Workshops: for all those who want to specialize in specific applications.
 
Lecturers are university professors, researchers of the National Institute of Applied Optics, professionals members of the leading lighting designer associations, people from the national an international industries.
 
At the end of the course a certificate of attendance will be issued to participants.

WORKSHOP MUSEUM AND HISTORICAL BUILDING LIGHTING

April, 1st – 4th 2004
 
AIM: to provide participants with the right method to develop a lighting concept for museums and historical buildings.

PARTECIPANTS: professionals, lighting designer.

DURATION: 32 hours divided in 4 days.
LANGUAGE: English
TOPICS: the Workshop will be directed by the famous lighting designer Claude R. Enlge III. After the Grand Louvre in Paris and the MOMA in New York, Claude R. Enlge will study an exceptional case study: the Istituto degli Innocenti in Florence. The attention will be focused on the more prestigious areas: the cloisters, the museum, the church, the conference room and the “Verone”. Participants will have the opportunity to compare with the working method of the Teacher and with expert colleagues coming for all over the world developing the lighting concept for the selected case study. At the end of the workshop the ideas for the project will be presented to the local authorities.
COST: 1.000 € + VAT (20%). The fee include study material, the hotel booking service, shuttle service to connect the hotel to the workshop headquarters, coffee breaks, lunches.

BASIC COURSE IN INDOOR LIGHTING

June, 16th – 19th 2004 (I° edition)
November, 24th – 27th 2004 (II° edition)
AIM: to provide a bases for a correct use of light indoors.
TARGET: students and non specialized professionals who want to learn tools for a correct and effective use of light.
DURATION: 32 spread over 4 days.
LANGUAGE: Italian
