In July Via Borgognona, the street which symbolizes Roman fashion, was dressed in a very particular kind of light: works from the Targetti Art Light Collection were displayed in the boutiques of the most popular international fashion designers. The idea for this unusual exhibition came from Anna Fendi, President of the "Associazione Via Borgognona e Piazzetta Bocca di Leone", and Amnon Barzel, the collection's curator, who wanted to transform the boutique windows into exhibition areas, turning the street into an open air museum, a unique kind of art street.
The Honorary President of the Association, Princess Sandra Torlonia, and the Vice President, Prof. Francesco De Simone Niquesa, collaborated enthusiastically with Anna Fendi who wanted the art light of the Targetti Art Light Collection to inaugurate Via Borgognona's new role. From the evening of July 12th, visitors have been able to stroll by the stores and enjoy not only the magnificent creations of the fashion designers but also the exciting lighting of the works exhibited: Corneli and Eliasson have enriched the allure of Laura Biagiotti's ethereal creations; Poirier and Nagasawa have "duetted" with the aggressiveness of the Fendi style; Klotz has flooded Versace's clothes with color; Rivola has rewritten Ferrè's clothes with light; Rivka Rinn has played with Dolce & Gabbana, Ferrario Freres with Ermenegildo Zegna, Liv with Fratelli Rossetti, Yamamoto with Moschino, Messina with Calvin Klein and so on.
All sixteen "light paintings" have found in the fashion creations the fulfillment of their ability to enthrall: the chromatic studies and research into stylistic affinities carried out by Amnon Barzel have only enhanced the synergy. The vernissage of the exhibition - attended by over 1500 people, including famous names from the worlds of journalism, entertainment, fashion and art - was held in Piazzetta Bocca di Leone, which was transformed, for the occasion, into a magnificent garden of oleanders.
