TARGETTI LIGHTS UP THE MAGIC OF POMODORO’S WORKS
The partnership between Targetti and the Opera Primaziale Pisana continues with a new project to light an exhibition in the charming backdrop of Piazza del Duomo in Pisa, dedicated to
Arnaldo Pomodoro, one of the most important and influential artists on the contemporary art scene.
Designed and directed by the architect Alberto Bartalini, the exhibition has more than one hundred works of art on display with sculptures, sketches and drawings that bear witness to the long artistic of this great sculptor.
The exhibition is spread over various locations: the Palazzo dell’Opera, Museo delle Sinopie and the space outside Piazza dei Miracoli, the place where Pomodoro's contemporary sculptures will interact with works from the medieval school of Nicola and Giovanni Pisano
It is in this charming context that Targetti has created a customised lighting system that was designed following guidelines from architect Bartalini, using a particular small profile that integrates perfectly with the false walls and runs along the entire perimeter of the rooms. Here it is possible to hang projectors at any point to ensure minimum visual impact and maximum flexibility depending on the lighting requirements specified by the artist.
Master Pomodoro asked for dramatic lighting that was soft and elegant at the same time to enhance the subject matter and emphasise their characteristics and plasticity.
All projectors, strictly high colour rendering LED lamps that were specially designed for the occasion, are equipped with differentiated optics and various accessories in order to calibrate the different works with the most suitable light to enhance the shape, materials and the internal complexity of each work.
The result is an intense exhibition where the sculptures engage with the space with striking strength and energy.
