Targetti and Sociedad Colombiana de Arquitectos promote the “culture of light” in BogotáThe project to promote the "Culture of Light" is a result of collaboration between Targetti and Sociedad Colombiana de Arquitectos. This is a series of workshops that will start on 12 November featuring three world class speakers:

• Giancarlo Castoldi, teacher of various masters courses dedicated to lighting, director of the Targetti Lighting Academy and an internationally recognised speaker.
• Claudia Paz, one of the most acclaimed lighting designers in international competitions for her interactive projects. From Peru, she began her career by lighting the entire old town in the city of Lima. Today she is also an internationally acclaimed speaker.
• Alain Guilhot, a French lighting designer and former president of Citelum, the world leader in urban lighting management with a penchant for artistic lighting of monuments like the Eiffel Tower or the Petronas Towers. Citelum is streets ahead of the competition with their “reversible” installations that respect historical landmarks and that address various complex situations at the same time.

The workshops will take place at the Auditorium of the national headquarters of Sociedad Colombiana de Arquitectos, from 8 a.m. with a brief introduction from the president, Architect Flavio Romero Frieri.

Luca Valdrighi, sales director for Targetti South America, will introduce the speakers and will act as a moderator during the workshops.

Giancarlo Castoldi will be in charge of explaining the “language of light” with the help of practical demonstrations to ensure a better understanding of the “best practices” to follow presented by Claudia Paz and Alain Guilhot (including the old town in Cali that is currently under way), that will encourage strong interaction between the public and the speakers.

During the various breaks and the final cocktail party it will be possible to speak directly to the speakers and ask them for more information on specific topics.

Through the work carried out at the Lighting Academy, Targetti has played an important role in fostering greater interaction between lighting and architecture as well as encouraging greater recognition for the profession of the Lighting Designer for many years.

The collaboration between Targetti and Sociedad Colombiana de Arquitectos will be expanded in the future with new training opportunities regarding specific issues relating to the world of architecture and lighting.
