ART & RETAIL LIGHTING WORKSHOP
Targetti at the International School of Design - May 17, 2016 - Santiago de Chile.Targetti was invited by the Director of the Design School of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Mr. Jose Manuel Allard, and the Deputy Director and Professor of Lighting Design, Mr. Douglas Leonard Sr. to organize a lighting workshop: practical sessions aimed at discovering the potential of light as a fundamental tool to reveal what our eyes can't normally see. Many professionals from all over the world took part in the event: designers, architects, industry specialists and lighting designers.
The aim of the workshop was to focus on how to exploit principles and technology that are normally applied to lighting art to create successful concepts that can also be used for retail lighting; to explain the importance of using solutions such as the "Light of Florence" collections - specifically created for enhancing places of worship and historical monuments; to highlight how the Targetti Retail Collection can contribute to creating high impact brand experiences and to make Targetti a reference point for the best lighting experiences in these fields.
Targetti took the audience through the latest systems for light control and colour rendering balance. During his session, paintings made by two local artists (Robert and Martin Irarrazaval) were used to demonstrate how materials behave when different lighting sources are used. When a better quality of light spectrum is available, colours and details appear at their best because of the innate power of light to generate sensations and emotions.
Targetti participation at the workshop represented the Company and Targetti Foundation's commitment to promoting the "culture of light". Targetti will be a Gold Sponsor at EILD 2016 (EILD, Encuentro Iberoamericano de Lighting Designers) that will be held next September in Ouro Preto, Brazil.
