Bottonificio Lenzi

Entrenched is a sloping tree-lined torrent, this industrial building near Bologna brings order to the surrounding area. The direct view on the many pre-fabricated buildings in this area was excluded, favouring the unconstructed landscape. Therefore, Apennine peaks, ravines, woods and other natural views can be admired from inside the factory. Home to the management offices and production centre of high-fashion buttons and accessories, the building is above all an exemplary factory. The exterior in Corten steel and dark grey insulated panels integrates harmoniously with the colours of the mountain.

The façade looking towards the valley is a large collector of light, which does not invade the landscape. The button factory has a classic layout with the small sheds to the north. This follows a western alignment along the torrent that uses the arboreal barrier with deciduous leaves as a screen against the light and heat of the summer sun.

All the offices have a view of the valley and benefit from the natural light coming from the north. The artificial light perfectly goes along with this conception of the building, coming from high-efficiency lighting bodies that merge seamlessly into the architecture. This result was achieved with ARC KRIPTON recessed projectors with plaster cornice for fluorescent light bulbs. Among the other Targetti products used are the ceiling-mounted MINIDESE, LED.Y, SLIM LINE and SUPERSTAR suspended lights.
