Photo: Francesco TomasinelliOltremodo is located in the Area of the Old Port of Genoa, restored in 1992 by Renzo Piano. Positioned at the bow of the ship called “Nave Italia” anchored at Ponte Spinola, immediately after the Aquarium, the Restaurant has an unrivalled view of the city. The interior, simple and welcoming, recaptures the shape of the ship’s bow. The light neutral colours of the walls change during the different times of the day depending on the outside light, made possible by a sophisticated lighting system that allows creating new atmospheres. To create the indoor project, the Davide Simonetti Design Studio turned to Targetti for the light design and supply of the fixtures.
Along the entire perimeter of the bow that circumscribes the main hall, LINEOS RGB asymmetrical linear projectors with dynamic light bulbs were used. They were placed in strips inside the furrow created between the walls and the continuous seat which represents an integral part of the indoor project. The change of colour is functional to the trendy aspect of the locale, which has a rather young clientele. The lights around the central block in the middle of the room also change colour.
The fixtures used in this case are LED-Y ceiling recessed projectors that “bathe” the walls and at the same time illuminate the bottom with precision. For the overall lighting of the room, the choice fell on CCT FLASH recessed projectors with fluorescent light bulbs, which were also used in the toilets. A series of LINEO projectors were used to illuminate the déhor of the restaurant, used mainly in the summer but also in the colder seasons thanks to a protruding veranda.
