The Salzburg Designer Outlet is the McArthur Glenn Group’s second project in Austria. The outlet is in an unrivalled location adjacent to the city’s international W A Mozart airport and only a few minutes from the city centre. Inaugurated in 2009, the outlet has an important selection of designer labels from all over the world, including Calvin Klein, Barbour, Rosenthal and Jil Sander, as well as a full range of cafes, restaurants and play areas for children. The outdoor and indoor lighting was entrusted to the Austrian company "podpod design" of Iris and Michael Podgorschek, who turned to Targetti for the supply of light fixtures.

A very important aspect is the illumination of one of the large façades of the outlet, which is completely covered by a metal mesh that also acts as a distinctive architectural element. To emphasise this role, the podpod team relied on Targetti’s FEDO wall-mounted fixtures with double emission fitted with metal halide light sources. The perfect control of the light beam offers an extremely atmospheric blade effect that “razes” the façade, beautifully highlighting the texture of the wire mesh.
