The redevelopment of a former industrial area that at the end of the 1800s was home to the Moscow Gas Plant – that for nearly a century provided the gas to light the city of Moscow- is now home to Arma Factory, one of the most vibrant creative areas in the city.

Arma is one of the growing number of examples of former industrial areas converted into multipurpose districts where the old buildings have given way to galleries and art centres, venues for events and exhibitions, offices, cafes and architecture and design firms. The project to redevelop the buildings and reorganise the area, managed by the Architectural firm SKiP Architectural Bureau in Moscow which started in 2011, was finally completed in 2017.

Targetti participated in the project by lighting the outside of two blocks of buildings in the so called Arma Business Quarter, the area dedicated to offices and workplaces. The lighting project focused on lighting the characteristic pilasters that are a regular feature on the building facades, creating an effect that enhances the surface texture.

Depending on the specific needs of the areas to be lit fixtures from the JEDI or STILO ranges were chosen. Where functional lighting was not a fundamental requirement JEDI fixtures with indirect emission were used. Where on the other hand it was necessary to have functional lighting at ground level STILO wall fixtures with double emission (elliptical + asymmetrical) were chosen.
